What are parents saying?

"I'm a parent of three children (two whom have had DARE). DARE has helped my children stay focused on the dangers around them, not only drugs, but many other dangers they may face now or later on in life. I feel this program is very important to all children due to many of their home life. Thank you DARE for all you've done for these children and maybe you can keep many from going the wrong direction by teaching them to make good decisions." A thankful parent - Kerri

"I just wanted to take the time to extend my sincere appreciation for all that D.A.R.E. has done and continue to do for my children & lots of others through the DARE program. My son attended DARE summer camp at least 3 years in a row, along with having D.A.R.E. in the 6th grade. He thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and learned some very valuable life lessons. He also developed close friendships with other participants and gained a deep admiration and respect for law enforcement! It also greatly impressed upon me that there were children who appeared to be underprivileged that had the opportunity to enjoy this program. "

"Thanks just doesn't seem adequate for all of the hard work that DARE officers put into this program. I know that my son always looked forward with great anticipation attending D.A.R.E.! "

"In regards to the D.A.R.E. summer camp - I feel that these are helping to shape wonderful, productive and respectful future citizens of the State of Mississippi!" Marilyn

"I didn't know much about DARE at the time, only the name.....then when we first met the D.A.R.E. Officer they shared D.A.R.E. information with my girls in a way that developed a rapport with them AND created a special and lasting friendship! This, in turn, made the DARE program even more interesting/informative to my girls" Vickie

What are past students saying?

"Well I graduated from D.A.R.E. a long time ago. I was young but the affects that drugs can have on you and your life stuck with me throughout my whole life. Seeing what it does makes me want to be the person that stays away from them. The message that was brought out my D.A.R.E. Officer made a big difference in my life. I am so glad they were there to teach me about harmful effects of drugs because at age of 19 now I am still drug free and have never been happier!" Tracey

"D.A.R.E. lessons still stick with me - I'm making good decisions even in college now and knowing whom I should and shouldn't be associating with!" Kirstie

"I love that game we played were we put all that stuff on the board that we can do without having drugs in our life. I also loved how we went over all the cyberbullying stuff because it has helped me many times!!" Amber (8th grade)
